#1 2 (4 avril 2022 14:31)

Aside from being cheaper and just as beautiful as natural hardwood, vinyl floors are more durable, too. They can withstand a lot more impacts and stresses. The top surface coating can also resist water damage better, too. This makes cleaning and maintaining the floor much less headache-inducing.

However, that doesn’t mean you can treat it roughly like a cement floor. You will still need the correct technique and cleaning tool to best clean out vinyl floorboards.

In this guide, we’ll show you some of the best Hot steam, aside from sterilizing the floor, will loosen up dirt and debris. You can wipe them off more easily from the floor’s surface.

In this article, we’ll first tell you briefly about why you need a good mop for vinyl floors. Then, we’ll be showcasing some of the best vinyl floor mops on the market right now!

How to clean vinyl floors and Why You Need a Good vinyl floor mop

Like we said earlier, vinyl floors are tough … but they aren’t indestructible.

To clean vinyl floors, you will need a soft cleaning tool. Soft enough that it won’t damage the top surface of the floor. Any scratch or scuff marks could ruin the aesthetic of the floor as well as turning into an expensive repair bill. Vinyl floors are expensive to fix. Depending on the quality of the floorboards and the servicer, you may have to spend $300 to $1,800.

Next up, despite being more hardened against moisture than hardwood or laminate floors, vinyl floors are still at risk of water damage. If water seeps into the floorboards through the seams, it can cause staining and discoloration.

Therefore, even with vinyl floors, you will want to limit the amount of moisture left on the floor as you mop. If the floor is oversaturated with water, it could be damaged. A good mop can help you with this.

The Best Vinyl floor mop to Get in 2022

1. O-Cedar ProMist MAX Microfiber Spray Mop

Affordable, lightweight, and capable, the O-Cedar ProMist MAX is a mop that we would recommend for most households.

The first thing that we noticed when we got it out of the box is its lightweight. Completely assembled and loaded with water, the mop only weighs around 1.5 pounds. In addition to its weight, we also really like the slim profile of the mop. Our testers can maneuver the mop into tight corners and around obstacles without much of an issue.

Performance is excellent. The cleaning head can be attached with a soft, double-sided microfiber mopping pad. It’s soft enough to use on vinyl floors without scratching the surface. During the test, the mop picked up a lot of dirt and debris, as well.

When one side of the mop has been saturated with dirt, the mopping pad can be flipped 180°. You can continue cleaning using the clean side without having to stop and change out the mop. Once you’re finished cleaning, you can detach the mop and wash it to reuse the next day.

As this is a spray mop, the ProMist MAX comes with a refillable water bottle. You can draw water from the bottle using a trigger. The spray mechanism does a very good job at spraying without over-saturating the floor.

2. Swiffer WetJet Hardwood and Floor Spray Mop

The Swiffer WetJet is similar to the O-Cedar ProMist MAX, both in terms of design and capability. It is a very lightweight, compact, and maneuverable spray mop that cleans very well on vinyl floors. However, it also has a few unique selling points of its own.

Let’s first get into the design, though.

The WetJet weighs 1.5 pounds when it’s fully assembled. It also has a very slim profile that makes it very easy to use in cramped, awkward spaces. Thanks to the articulating cleaning head, we had no issue maneuvering the mop into tight corners and around furniture.

In the box, you will find six “heavy-duty mopping pads”. These pads are made from microfiber and can clean vinyl floors without damaging the surface. We also noted a very good dirt and debris pick-up rate with this type of mopping pad.

Where the WetJet stands out is its water spraying mechanism. Instead of being mechanically operated, the two sprayers — one on either side of the cleaning head — is electrically operated. That’s why you need to put four AA batteries into the mop before you can use it. Thanks to this design, the sprayers are highly accurate. They can spread a light layer of moisture on the floor without oversaturating it.

The only thing we don’t like about this mop is that the mopping pads aren’t washable. Once the pad is filled with dust and dirt, you have to throw it out and replace it with a fresh pad. In the long-term, this can add up to quite a bit of money.

3. Conliwell 18” Professional Microfiber Mop Floor Cleaning System

If you only need a simple, no-nonsense mop, the Conliwell 18” professional microfiber mop will do the trick.

As this is a classic mop, you will need to manually add water to the mop through a bucket.

At the bottom of the cleaning head, you can stick a soft microfiber mopping pad to the velcro patches there.

Like all microfiber pads, we’ve found the ones that come with the Conliwell mop to be soft and non-abrasive. It also does a decent job at wiping the floor clean from dirt and debris. Once the mop is saturated with dirt, you can remove it from the velcro, rinse, and reuse.

The cleaning head measures 18 inches across. As a result, it can cover a very wide area per pass.

In terms of design, this mop is as simple as can be. The handle is made from a hollow tube of aluminum, hence the light weight (the mop only weighs around 2 pounds). You can adjust the length of the handle to suit your stature. It can telescope back and forth between a minimum length of 36.5 inches and a maximum length of 51 inches.

Besides the handle and the cleaning head (both of which are made from aluminum), all other parts are made from plastic. While this reduces the weight of the mop significantly, the mop may not be very durable.

The cleaning head can rotate 360°, which greatly improves maneuverability.

Cleaning vinyl floors doesn't have to be a headache, especially when you have the right tool in hand. We hope these three vinyl floor mops are exactly what you’re looking for. Depending on your budget and your requirements, any of these models can be the best mop for vinyl floors for you!
